Octopia: The Game-Changing Solution

Launched by Cdiscount in 2021, Octopia is the solution designed to support marketplaces in expanding and enhancing their product offerings. In some cases, Octopia steps in right from the platform’s launch; in others, it collaborates with well-established international marketplaces already familiar to ecommerce sellers—making it a key business opportunity.

What’s Changing?

Content Updates

With the new API, all sellers can now contribute to enriching product listings—even if they didn’t create them. You can add attributes to improve the quality of information for buyers. Updating this content will be faster, more accessible, and eliminate the need for manual processes via your seller dashboard.

Editing Product Listings

Another major advancement: If you’re the creator of a product listing, you can now directly edit its content (images, titles, descriptions)—something that wasn’t possible with the old API. No more tedious back-and-forth via files or seller support: updates are now quicker, easier, and give you more direct control over your products.

The Qualiscore

Octopia introduces a new concept: the Qualiscore. This rating, from A (best) to E (worst), directly impacts your offers’ visibility on the marketplace. The higher your score, the more exposure your products get with buyers.

How Does It Work?

  • If you’re the listing creator, ensure there are no duplicates (titles, visuals, descriptions) and use high-quality images.
  • If you’re a contributor, fill in attributes and facets accurately: these key elements improve search filtering and increase your products’ discoverability.
